The challenge
Grupo Bimbo, one of the world’s leading bakeries with over 148,000 associates in 34 countries, distributes its product with a vast fleet comprised of 69,000 delivery vehicles serving over 1,000 distribution centers. In order to manage their vehicles, maintenance, and deliveries in the most efficient way, Grupo Bimbo needed to upgrade their asset management system and implement a solution that would provide a comprehensive view of their performance as well as maintenance schedules.
The solution
Our Arcadis Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution helped transform the way the client was managing their fleet operation, replacing paper and legacy systems with a cutting-edge, smart solution that analyses assets, fuel and engine, maintenance, inventory, warranty, and road safety management. With Arcadis EAM, we also provide full reporting and business intelligence functionality so that the user can make decisions with confidence.
The impact
Within six months of adopting Arcadis EAM, Grupo Bimbo’s asset management operation saw vast improvements in both their business and technology areas. Our solution also offers a fleet tracking system that now allows them to analyse millions of operation information records, telemetry data and vehicle status so that they can optimize fleet routes and contribute to organizational sustainability targets.
