Arcadis contributed to three winning projects at the 2019 MIPIM Awards

Arcadis is pleased to announce that Mille Arbres (France), the Student Hotel Florence and Club Med Cefalù (Italy) are amongst the award winners at this year’s MIPIM property exhibition in Cannes.

Mille Arbres – winner in category best futura project
The City of Paris selected the Mille Arbres project as part of their call for innovative urban projects "Réinventer Paris" (Reinventing Paris). The project is the largest inhabited bridge in the world, covering the ring road and connects Paris’ suburb Neuilly to the heart of the city. The project stands out for its ‘forest’ roof, with more than a thousand trees and wooden houses. In charge of the engineering, Arcadis is proud to have participated in the realization of this ambitious and innovative project.

"With our different partners, such as Oxo architects and Sou Fujimoto for the architecture as well as the Compagnie de Phalsbourg and Ogic for the development, we are honored that this emblematic project of the City of Paris is recognized by our peers", comments Nicolas Ledoux, CEO of Arcadis France. "With Mille Arbres, we contribute to a more carbon-neutral approach to urbanization combining architecture and sustainable development, to re-enchant the Porte Maillot landscape in an unprecedented way. As the company responsible for the civil engineering, Arcadis has designed the structure of this unique building in the world that will become one of the new emblems of the reinvention of Paris. "

Arcadis’ partners on the Mille Arbres project were La Compagnie de Phaslbourg, Ogic, Sou Fujimoto, Oxo Architects, Cushman & Wakefield, Franck Boutte, JP Lamoureux, M.Forgue and CitizenM.

Club Med Cefalù – winner in category best hotel and tourism resort
Arcadis contributed our expertise in technical and environmental due diligence to the redevelopment of the Club Med Cefalù. The redevelopment plan included the creation of new guest residences and rooms, as well as the renovation and construction of the common areas.

The Student Hotel Florence Lavagnini - winner in best mixed-use development
Arcadis successfully supported the development of the Student Hotel Florence Lavagnini, by leveraging our expertise in project and cost management, design coordination, and construction management. The 20,000-square meter property is composed of 390 rooms for guests with varied needs.

Massimiliano Pulice, CEO of Arcadis Italy, comments: “The Student Hotel is an enthusiastic, young company and an innovative brand that needed Arcadis’ expertise to successfully realize the project. Our proactive support and 360° view of arising issues were key to our successful consultancy work.”
