The Asia headquarters of Arcadis, the leading global Design & Consultancy for natural and built assets, has moved into a 78,000 sq. ft. office spread over three floors connected via internal staircases at Two Harbour Square, Kwun Tong.

- New space was designed for activity based working and promotes collaboration, creativity and flexibility
With the move, Arcadis Hong Kong’s business lines of Cost Management, Project Management & Business Advisory, and Design & Engineering, will be housed in a single location for the first time. The office has been designed to promote greater collaboration, support sustainability, and create a strong sense of community and well-being.

Asset-driven transformation
The new office space is more than just a move; it is a catalyst for wider business transformation in business efficiency and how services are delivered to clients.
Each floor has two large neighbourhood squares and various huddle spaces to facilitate face-to-face interaction, encourage our people to share experiences, nurture creativity and work as a cohesive team. In an activity based working environment, everyone is free to choose the workplace best suits their workstyle, the type of task needed to perform, and how they will collaborate with others.
Sustainability and well-being
People and community are Arcadis’ top priorities which is why there are wellness rooms, nursing mother facilities and recharge quiet zones to cater to people’s needs and support their well-being. 78% of desks are sit/stand desks to help promote activity and movement during office hours.
As part of Arcadis’ commitment to social responsibility, the staff café will be operated in a sustainable fashion, from sourcing to serving. The company has partnered with a café vendor who sources coffee beans responsibly from local Indonesian farmers. The café has worked hard at managing unnecessary consumption and eliminated disposable cups and the use of single-use plastics in its operations. To contribute back to the local community, the café will provide employment and training opportunities to the socially disadvantaged, with the intention that a considerable portion of its profits will go to local charitable causes.
In order to keep paper out of the workplace and to enhance operations, Arcadis has taken a nearby semi-industrial building which will act as an Offsite Receivables Centre (ORC). This industry leading facility will act as a “tender production and safe storage facility”, additionally it will handle incoming mail, major document production as well as the Document Management System electronically. The transformation from paper to an electronic way of working is further made possible by investment in e-marking devices and technology. These new ways of working will not only reduce the office’s overall paper consumption, but also improve efficiency.
Staff fully engaged during process
During the six-month long move process, Arcadis’ Hong Kong staff members have been engaged and kept informed throughout, from selection of furniture to tasting sessions in choosing the café vendors. In addition, information fairs and office tours have been held to familiarize people with the new space and the new way of working.
