In 1999, Jupiters Broadbeach was selected as the site for the new Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, and Arcadis was commissioned to provide a range of engineering services.

One of the primary considerations for the project concerned market research feedback which indicated the need for highway frontage. This meant that Little Tallebudgera Creek had to be realigned and an entirely new site created.

Major external works - especially variations to the flow of existing waterways - required extensive analysis and qualitative measurement of impacts. Arcadis had responsibility for managing the Integrated Development Assessment process, which included preparing an extensive Environment Impact Study.

The project delivered one of the most advanced convention venues in the country, offering optimal space and light for multi-purpose rooms, with advanced technological infrastructure and award-winning service in one of Queensland’s premier tourist locales.
