Overseeing the development of world’s first open-air, guided and harnessed bridge climb on one of Australia’s historic icons.

BridgeClimb is the world’s first open-air, guided and harnessed climb of a major bridge and has given millions of visitors’ access to one of Australia’s greatest engineering and historic icons.

Arcadis oversaw all the structural modifications required to conduct the climbing tours, including tunnels through the bridge abutment, handrails to support climber safety lines, stairs and catwalk link platforms.

BridgeClimb has won numerous Awards and Accolades including the Australian Tourism Award, Royal Australian Institute of Architecture Conservation Award, National Trust Heritage Award and an Engineers Australia Excellence Award in the Heritage Category.
