Global provision of trainingWith developing face-to-face trainings Arcadis helped the World Bank Group to target behavioral aspects of different target audiences of World Bank staff and Borrowers in order to help them apply their knowledge of the ESF in daily practice. The emphasis of the course development was put on the Environmental and Social (E&S) specialist working at the World Bank Group, who are encompassed in assessing project loan requests and are responsible for guiding and monitoring Borrowers through project implementation. The engaging and immersive 5-day training for these E&S specialists includes all relevant supporting materials consisting videos, voice-messages, visuals and tailored game experiences.
Next to the E&S course, an additional courses applicable is developed to a set of target audiences of the World Bank Group and Borrowers. With 4 train-the-trainer sessions across the globe, knowledge and application of the training modules is transferred to the World Bank trainers.
The Environmental and Social Framework is an important pillar in international project finance for the World Bank Group. Not conveying the subtleties and changes with regards to the previous Environmental and Social Safeguard Policies in the right way, could mean that World Bank and Borrower personnel is not aware of important aspects in the framework or are applying certain aspects with insufficient depth. To transpose these subtleties in such a way that the training feels engaging and immersive, gives ample opportunities to apply previously gained knowledge of the ESF in such a way that participants remember for years to come.
