A store roll out program was developed and implemented to deliver a consistent brand image and quality store environment within strict budgets and time frames across numerous Asian markets.
From the very start our retail team has provided dedicated project and program management services to support L’Occitane. With multiple store projects in multiple countries, establishing effective delivery processes has been the key challenge. As part of this we have incorporated key elements of design and store planning, material and fixture supply, contractor sourcing and appointment, and projects construction. All of these elements have been crucial to success.
Of equal importance is ensuring the various contractors in different countries across Asia have the capability to meet the L’Occitane standards. Our team works closely with the client subsidiaries and retail partners to train and assist contractors with delivering a high quality product that reflects the L’Occitane brand.
Our team acts as the brand guardian, responsible for the sourcing and procurement of in-store furniture and fixture items. Central sourcing has driven down supply costs for most Asian markets whilst ensuring consistency and quality, and the ability to appoint suppliers in line with CSR guidelines.
Over the course of this long-term relationship with L’Occitane, a flexible resourcing system was adopted to allow the client to increase or decrease the team size depending upon the store delivery numbers, without worrying about recruitment or in-house team workloads.
Over the past decade, L’Occitane have successfully opened hundreds of stores in China, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia and Taiwan.
Although store roll out programs present various challenges, these were overcome through careful planning, detailed and consistent communication with all the key stakeholders as well as a thorough knowledge of the processes, standards, requirements and objectives of the program.
