Three kilometers of roadworks to create the bus lane, a one-kilometer tidal flow system, cyclist and pedestrian pathway, and restoration of King George Park and playground.

As lead design consultant Arcadis worked in partnership with the NSW Government and a range of key stakeholders and the community to provide the ‘Inner West Busway’ along one of Sydney’s busiest road and urban corridors.

To improve the efficiency, reliability and safety of public bus transport, Arcadis oversaw the design and delivery of three kilometers of roadworks to create the bus lane, a one-kilometer tidal flow system, cyclist and pedestrian pathway, and restoration of King George Park and playground.

Some Australian engineering firsts included a Quickchange Moveable Barrier system, In-pavement lights, and an innovative median kerb and fence combination to boost pedestrian safety.
