Hong Kong Jockey Club

Hong Kong - The Hong Kong Jockey Club is the largest taxpayer in Hong Kong contributing over 10% of total GDP each year. Over the next three years the Club expects to spend over HK$16billion on construction projects across an extremely diverse portfolio. This includes the racecourse and training facilities, golf courses, retail branches and other corporate, residential and community facilities.

In a competitive market, the club recognized the need to make themselves a more attractive client in order to secure the right suppliers on a long-term basis. They also wanted to procure and tender projects more efficiently, gain greater control over commercial and development risk and create better collaboration across multiple departments within the Club.

HKJC

Arcadis helped the club to develop a three-year strategy to improve their supply chain management, introduce better procurement practices and embed category management within the organisation. We established a new operating model and organisational design for the club. Our team led the new department and provided a better structure, model of leadership, an improved skill base and streamlined processes. We also drove a broader transformation programme and reported directly to board members for over 2 years.

The work that Arcadis delivered generated a greater degree of visibility across the capital program and established a high level of trust from board members and other departments within the club. Alongside this, we helped the client to secure commercially advantageous long-term deals with critical suppliers.
