In 2017, the Highways Department appointed Arcadis as a consultant to design, procure and supervise the management operations and maintenance services for the new mega-scale land boundary control point on the Hong Kong side of the bridge. Arcadis supported the Highways Department to design, procure, and supervise the management operations and maintenance.   Arcadis has successfully procured the outsourced facilities management services under the planned budget and engaged the contractor in May 2018.

Arcadis also helped to develop the incident management plan to ensure that the contractors can provide professional and timely responses to potentially life-threatening scenarios and the business continuity plan of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Arcadis advised on how to maintain the green buildings in accordance with BEAM plus standards during the operational stage.  Arcadis also invited members of the client team to a BIM knowledge sharing session in the Arcadis Hong Kong office in order to help the client obtain a basic understanding of BIM. We provided advice on the type of information which is needed to be handed over from BIM consultant to the Client and informed the Client on the constraints related to Level of Details and staff competencies.

Arcadis’ involvement as the operations consultant was a game changer for the Business Advisory team as it was the first major project with the Hong Kong Highways Department. Arcadis is proud to have created an innovative facilities operations model for this iconic project that will act as a gateway to the Greater Bay Area.
