Arcadis Appointed as Project Independent Certifier for Queensland’s Landmark Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project

Arcadis, the leading data driven global Design & Consultancy organisation for natural and built assets, in a joint venture with Jacobs (AJJV), has been appointed as the Project Independent Certifier (PIC) for the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) project.

AJJV will ensure quality and compliance throughout the design and construction phases of the project, delivering a lasting public asset for South East Queensland residents.

Michael Downing, Business Leader - Project & Program Management at Arcadis said: “AJJV is proud to contribute to this landmark project for Queensland - demonstrating our shared commitment to innovation, sustainability and delivering exceptional outcomes for both clients and communities.

As a key investment to address high growth travel demand and support the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we’re excited to bring added assurance and alignment with the vision for a more efficient, future-ready rail network.

The win underscores AJJV’s proven expertise in certification services, leveraging over two decades of experience and innovative, market-leading digital tools. AJJV’s inhouse developed digital tools will play a pivotal role in delivering real-time dashboards of key metrics, providing transparency and certainty to the client throughout the project duration.

The LGC project will unlock additional train services to meet the growing travel demand between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Australia’s third and sixth largest cities.

It will double the tracks from two to four between Kuraby and Beenleigh and make it easier for customers to access high frequency rail services through modern station upgrades and improved walking and cycling connections.

Five level crossing removals throughout the 20km project corridor will improve safety and reduce traffic congestion for local communities.
