Our name
The name Arcadis is derived from Arcadia, which, according to Greek mythology, is the finest place on earth to live. It represents our aim to work systematically with clients to create a better environment where people can live, work and thrive.

Our symbol – the fire salamander
Our visual identity includes a representation of a fire salamander. Originating in Central Europe, the fire salamander is equally at home on land and in water, the salamander requires clean water to survive and represents lasting quality and ecological balance.  In modern terms the balance we seek is the creation of natural, social and economic value through the planning, creation, operation and redefining of natural and built assets.

Our Middle East Story

Our Middle East journey began over 110 years ago in the Gulf region where the pioneers of what is Arcadis today started shaping our legacy.  Through years of consistent improvisation and excellence in design, development and construction, we take credit for a vast variety of iconic structures and innovations worldwide.
Established in 1904 to a regional operation of over 450 people, we are now over 1,800 people across the Middle East. Arcadis has grown into one of GCC’s biggest and most respected business organizations, due to our entrepreneurial vision, commitment to ideals that put people before profits, and fortitude in the face of adversity.

With offices branching out in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain and with global excellence design centers across Jordan, India and the Philippines. Helping the public and private sectors throughout the Middle East and Africa across a variety of market segments, to understand how they can plan, create, operate and redefine their built and natural assets to help deliver better economic, social and environmental outcomes

Health and safety is of utmost importance to Arcadis. We are fully committed to adhering to the highest possible standards and continual improvement in our own health and safety record across board.

The structural engineering of  Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, twin Emirates Towers, to the design of the region’s largest shopping malls and  program management of world class stadiums, we are extremely delighted of our many accomplishments in the Middle East.
