Tackling costs in the digital age.
Following a stronger-than-expected 2017, cities around Asia are anticipating an upturn in construction demand with future infrastructure and building works leading economic performance. Large infrastructure projects lead the way and include the third runway system at Hong Kong International Airport and Terminal 5 in Singapore. Significantly, China’s One Belt, One Road project is also contributing over $900 billion of planned projects, from gas pipelines in Central Asia to high-speed railways in Indonesia.
Throughout Asia there is a market-wide challenge to improve productivity and drive the adoption of digital solutions to enhance construction performance. With a well-accepted lag in the general use of technology compared to other regions, contractors, developers and governments need to look at new ways to operate. If Asia is to modernize its procedures, now is the time to create and strive for more efficient, cost-effective and innovative solutions.
