Highlands Ranch, Colo. — Dec. 4, 2019 — Watervliet Arsenal in upstate New York is set for a large-scale update. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New York District has selected Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD) to provide military and non-military construction design, industrial assessments and designs, and environmental engineering at the arsenal and other North Atlantic Division installations.

Arcadis will apply proven digital practices and technologies, such as building information modeling, 100% digital field data acquisition software and immersive, 360-degree photos to provide flexible design solutions and efficient task order completion. The $25 million contract will span five years.

“We put together a unique team of local partners to address the arsenal’s varied needs responsively,” said Tom Rose, senior vice president and federal programs director at Arcadis. “It’s always an honor to support our military and the continued successful manufacturing at the arsenal.”

Watervliet Arsenal was founded in 1813 and remains the longest continually-running arsenal in the United States. As the nation's premier manufacturer of large caliber cannons and other high-powered weaponry, the arsenal has maintained a high level of production into the 21st century.

For more than 25 years, Arcadis has provided infrastructure assessments and designs, full-scale environmental remediation projects, manufacturing studies and building systems assessments to the Watervliet Arsenal and the USACE North Atlantic Division Districts. Arcadis’ long-term involvement has provided unique insight into the facility and how to support a safe and sustainable future at the arsenal.
