The highly sought 12-month program, which started in 2015, aims to develop leadership skills, build strong networks and promote collaborative engagement in the industry.
David has been part of the successful delivery of various large land transport infrastructure projects. As the Highways Engineering Lead in Arcadis’ WA team, David has held various project roles providing technical advice and design leadership across the civil engineering discipline. His specialty areas include road design, traffic engineering analysis and road safety aspects.
“As a migrate engineer of Asian ethnicity I am thrilled to be given this exclusive opportunity to accelerate my career and transform into a future leader in the transport and infrastructure industry.
“It will enable me to play a pivotal role in efforts to continue improving diversity and inclusion by advocating for career opportunities and growth for the underrepresented groups by supporting them to pursue a rewarding career in engineering,” says David.
“Since joining Arcadis’ Perth transport team David has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement for himself and our team, and to expand his professional networks internally within Arcadis, and throughout the industry. As our engineering lead he is passionate about mentoring young engineers and promoting sustainable design solutions and seeks to develop new business streams in active travel and renewable energy opportunities in our mission to achieve Net Zero.
"David already demonstrates key leadership attributes and I’m sure that the Roads Australia Fellowship Program will enable him to develop those existing attributes and create new targets for his future development,” says David Watson, Civil & Highways WA Discipline Lead.
