Arcadis awarded Contract Administration and Verification Services for Coomera Connector Stage 1 Central

19 October 2023 - Arcadis, a leading global design and consultancy for natural and built assets, announced it has been selected to provide contract administration and verification services for the Central contract package of the Coomera Connector Stage 1, Helensvale Road to Smith Street Motorway (CCHR2SS) project.

Teaming with long-time partner, APP Corporation, Arcadis will deliver contract administration and verification services (CAVS) for the Central package. The project will be delivered under a Collaborative Project Agreement established via a competitive early contractor involvement process.

Andrew Munro, CAVS Team Construction Verifier, Arcadis said: “Once complete, the new Connector will change how the South-East Queensland community travel around the region, improving journey times between growing areas and suburbs and enabling better connectivity for residents.

“We are excited to partner with APP Corporation on this important project. Drawing on our extensive verification experience, we look forward to contributing to this significant stage, which will improve safety and network efficiency as well as enable better active transport options.”

Dubbed as the ‘second M1’, the 16km Coomera Connector Stage 1 is Queensland’s largest road infrastructure project and will be delivered using three construction contract packages. The new infrastructure will alleviate travel time delay and congested traffic for road users travelling within the critical Brisbane – Gold Coast transport corridor. This project is fundamental to the Queensland Government’s plans of gearing up the evolving levels of population and job growth within South-East Queensland.

The Coomera Connector will progressively open sections from 2024 and be fully operational by 2026 when motorists will enjoy smooth traffic flow and reduced travel times. This project brings necessary congestion relief to the projected population of 600,000 who will be living in Logan and the Gold Coast by 2041.
