Amsterdam - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the world's leading natural and built asset design & consultancy firm, announced that during today's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Mr. Michiel Lap was appointed to the company's Supervisory Board for a period of four years. In that same meeting, ARCADIS CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board Mr. Neil McArthur was re-appointed, also for a period of four years.
Michiel Lap (1962) retired in August 2014 from Goldman Sachs Inc., where he served as Managing Director, and Head of Northern European Investment Banking activities. In that position he led cross-product and multi-jurisdictional teams advising some of Europe's largest corporations, financial institutions, and governments on mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions, risk management, and shareholder relations. Prior to 2004, Mr. Lap held senior management positions at Orange S.A., Morgan Stanley & Co, and J.P. Morgan.
Neil McArthur (1961) has been a member of the ARCADIS Executive Board since September 2011 and took over as CEO of ARCADIS early 2012. Since that time, he has led the development of ARCADIS' sustainable growth | performance | collaboration strategy and implemented a new operating model. He also successfully led the integration of EC Harris and Langdon & Seah and completed two other large acquisitions: Callison, a leading 1,000 people design and architecture firm; and Hyder, a ~5,000 people international consulting engineering firm. Prior to 2011 Mr. McArthur was a Senior Partner and Executive Committee member at Booz & Company and started his career with Shell International Petroleum Exploration & Production.
Shareholders also approved the company's dividend proposal of €0.60 per ordinary share, a 5% increase over last year's dividend. All other resolutions that were brought up for vote were also accepted by the meeting.
