Updates to keep center current alongside other Worcester revitalization projects
Worcester, Mass. — Feb. 7, 2020 — The City of Worcester has selected Arcadis (EURONXT: ARCAD) to manage the $25 million makeover of the DCU Center in Massachusetts, overseeing a series of capital improvement projects.
Arcadis will coordinate all aspects of the project, including budget oversight and construction manager selection. The company will also coordinate input from the project’s architect and contractor participation in partnership with the City of Worcester.
“We’re eager to collaborate with the City of Worcester and other project partners to maintain a quality experience for DCU Center patrons,” said Sean Sweeney, Arcadis vice president.
The DCU Center is made up of a connected arena and convention center complex that hosts a variety of events year-round. With the arena entering its 37th year of operation and the convention center approaching its 22nd, the project will keep the DCU Center up to date as Worcester opens a new ballpark and revitalizes key areas.
“The City of Worcester looks forward to working with the highly regarded firm Arcadis to help us make impactful capital improvement investments for the DCU Center,” said John Odell, City of Worcester Energy and Assets Director.
For more than 30 years, Arcadis has worked with arenas and convention facilities across Massachusetts and New England.
