Strong debut on annual scorecard
Highlands Ranch, Colorado — Feb. 14, 2020 — Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD) has scored 95% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This is Arcadis’ first year participating in the nation’s premier benchmarking survey that measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.
“We’re proud to see our initial score reflect our company values and culture of inclusion, where everyone can be themselves at work and expect to be valued and respected as equals,” said Brian Kundert, people director in North America.
Employees from the Pride Network, Arcadis’ LGBTQ employee affinity group, led the effort to participate in the CEI evaluation as a key indicator of the network’s mission: to create and maintain a safe, inclusive and equitable environment through education and dedicated support.
“It was important to us to not only put our commitment to the test but to make sure that our LGBTQ community understands they have workforce protections and inclusive benefits,” said Griselle Osses, structural project engineer and Pride Network lead. “The wellbeing of our LGBTQ employees is essential to their performance at work and reaffirms Arcadis’ core value of ‘people first’.”
The results of this year’s CEI showcase how more than 1,000 U.S.-based companies promote LGBTQ-friendly workplace policies in the U.S. and help drive LGBTQ inclusion in workplaces abroad.
Arcadis’ rating is based on detailed criteria falling under five broad categories:
- Non-discrimination policies
- Employment benefits
- Demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion
- Public commitment to LGBTQ equality
- Responsible citizenship
