Awarded projects highlight the breadth of Arcadis expertise across multiple sectors.
Highlands Ranch, Colo., Dec. 14, 2016 – Arcadis North America, the leading global design and consultancy firm for natural and built assets, has received eight 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) spanning four states across a multitude of engineering sectors. The awards recognize projects from California, New York, Texas and Ohio that demonstrate the greatest engineering skills and represent significant contribution to civil engineering progress and to society.
Each year, firms in each ACEC state chapter submit projects that are judged on a rigorous set of criteria, which includes complexity, innovation and value to society. In addition to celebrating among peers, the Engineering Excellence Awards helps to publicize the many significant contributions consulting engineers make to the built environment throughout the world.
Arcadis received recognition for involvement in projects in the following categories:
“It’s truly an honor both for Arcadis and our partners across the U.S. to receive these awards,” said Joachim Ebert CEO for Arcadis North America. “Arcadis draws on a vast pool of talent and experience across North America—and the globe—to bring the best talent to every project. These awards demonstrate our ability to collaborate and work hand-in-hand with local organizations to deliver project excellence and positive outcomes for our clients as we strive to improve quality of life via the broad spectrum of services and projects that we perform.”
The Engineering Excellence Awards are presented to projects that encompass both the public and private sector in the following categories: studies, research, and consulting services; building/technology systems; structural systems; surveying and mapping technology; environmental; waste and storm water; water resources; transportation; energy; industrial and manufacturing processes and facilities; and special projects.
Projects are judged by a panel of industry experts, which includes military and government officials, ACEC National and International leadership, educators from colleges’ and universities’ engineering departments, and leadership from other organizations dedicated to the built environment. Awards are distributed based on the average scores received by these judges and are assigned across multiple recognition levels.
