David has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, with a focus on leading transformation programmes and change initiatives for large, complex organisations. He joins Arcadis from AECOM, where he was Director of Digital Project Delivery responsible for creating and implementing digital strategy across Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. Prior to this, David held senior positions as Group Project Technologies Manager at Mott MacDonald and ICT Transformation Programme Manager at Lend Lease.
David’s appointment is a key element of Arcadis’ three year strategy to 2020. An important part of this focuses on ensuring that the business can access and fully leverage digital technologies, including BIM and data analytics, and enabling clients to benefit from the most advanced digital tools, technologies and capabilities to support their delivery programmes.
Commenting on his appointment, David said:
“From artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles, through to BIM, virtual reality, and the use of big data, the increasing automation and digitisation of the construction industry is forming a major part of our day-to-day landscape. We need to be ready to embrace these changes, and it’s an exciting time to be joining a company with the ambition and capabilities of Arcadis. I’m looking forward to working with the team and building on some really strong foundations to ensure that the benefits and opportunities from digital technology can be fully realised right across the business.”
Peter Madden, UK Chief Operating Officer at Arcadis, added:
“David is a key strategic appointment and signals our intent to expand our digital capabilities across all sectors. He brings huge experience and knowledge in what will be a major area for our business moving forward. As new technologies come to the fore, it will become increasingly important to ensure that our business is equipped for this new digital age.”
