Ecological and sustainability services

Our ecological and sustainability services support responsible and resilient development that strengthens both natural systems and long-term performance. From biodiversity planning and habitat restoration to carbon management and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) advisory, our work is grounded in science and practical delivery. We help clients meet regulatory requirements, protect natural resources, and generate measurable environmental, social, and financial value.

Navigating biodiversity, climate, and sustainability risks

Evolving regulations, rising investor expectations, and the physical impacts of climate change are increasing pressure on organizations to manage ecological and sustainability risks with greater clarity. These forces are reshaping how projects, portfolios, and operations are planned, financed, and managed, particularly where outcomes depend on natural systems.

From meeting biodiversity net gain requirements to managing financial exposure from carbon-heavy portfolios, organizations need more than compliance to reduce risk and move forward with confidence. Our ecological and sustainability services turn complexity into actionable strategies that strengthen performance and create lasting value. By moving beyond mitigation, we help clients restore environments and deliver regenerative outcomes that last.

Proven ecological and sustainability services

Through our sustainability and ecological consultancy services, we deliver infrastructure and land management solutions that reduce environmental impact and strengthen community resilience.

Safeguarding Newhaven’s homes and businesses from rising sea levels

After hurricane-force winds and a record storm surge flooded over 60 properties, protecting Newhaven’s vital infrastructure and residents became urgent. We designed four kilometers of flood defenses, including a groundbreaking barrier across an operational rail line, to provide a one-in-200-year standard of protection.

The project safeguarded 430 homes and 390 businesses while reducing embedded carbon by 88% through the innovative use of cement-free concrete. By incorporating local chalk, we saved £240,000 and delivered the £18 million project under budget, supporting the area's economic vitality and urban regeneration.

Protecting Donaumoos from peat soil loss and climate risk

In the Donaumoos region in Germany, drainage and urbanization caused critical peat soil losses of up to two centimeters per year, weakening natural flood defenses and carbon sinks. We developed a digital modeling platform to manage one million cubic meters of earth movement and restore the moorland’s natural water levels and ecological health.

The system enables local authorities to visualize flood scenarios, protect biodiversity, and manage groundwater management with precision. This approach supports long-term agricultural viability while preserving carbon sequestration and ecological health.
