Portfolio-wide ESG program management
We went beyond reporting to advise on policies, target-setting, and climate risk integration, identifying over 170 opportunities to improve environmental, social, and governance performance. As a result, the client managed its sustainability efforts holistically, with 75% of responses improving their scores and increasing transparency and trust with investors.
Optimizing capital investment through decision analytics for the District of Columbia
Using our Enterprise Decision Analytics (EDA) platform, we enabled scenario-based planning across a $14 billion portfolio. This provided clear insight into asset condition, repair costs, and future capital requirements, while introducing predictive capabilities to reduce maintenance backlogs and prevent asset failure.
As a result, the district strengthened investment planning and asset data management. It achieved one of the highest bond ratings among US state and local governments, lowering borrowing costs. A full asset inventory also improved visibility and control across its multi-billion-dollar portfolio.
Advancing climate resilience planning for Norfolk, Virginia
Working with Arcadis experts, Norfolk developed a data-driven resilience plan that supported a successful $120.5 million federal funding award. Through integrated planning and stakeholder engagement, the approach combined engineered defenses with nature-based solutions, including shoreline protection, stormwater management, and urban design interventions.
As a result, Norfolk advanced the transformation of the Ohio Creek Watershed project into a model for coastal resilience. The program improved flood protection, supported ongoing waterfront development, and positioned the city as a ‘living lab‘ for climate adaptation, strengthening long-term safety and resilience for its communities.
