The current station neighborhood on the edge of Eindhoven’s shopping district is highly fragmented, a look that is not befitting of a city with a reputation as a high-tech center of design and knowledge. Eindhoven is also growing rapidly and urgently needs new housing, retail, hospitality, and study options. The authorities were looking for a comprehensive solution that would meet all these needs and make the city a sustainable, innovative, and economic hotspot, leading to the development of District E.
Developer Amvest’s plans for District E provided the solution for this neighborhood, with three towers at heights of 76 to 158 meters creating a powerful visual impact. District E aligns perfectly with Brainport Eindhoven and offers plenty of space and opportunities for technology, design, and knowledge. With their flexible architecture and installation technology, the towers also fit perfectly with the downtown area and the larger buildings along the rail track and on the university campus. In addition, the renovated station neighborhood will soon accommodate 450 homes (including social housing), a hotel, workplaces, study areas, and retail and hospitality options, along with spaces for debate, meetings, and exhibitions.
District E will transform the fragmented and cluttered station neighborhood on the edge of Eindhoven’s shopping hub into a modern, safe, and sustainable residential area. Road users will benefit from improved traffic flow, and the city will gain much-needed new living spaces and study and leisure options. This extensive urban regeneration in Eindhoven will provide an extra boost to the city’s image as a center for technology, design, and knowledge. The renovated station neighborhood will become a destination in its own right for residents and visitors alike.

The area will be transformed from a fragmented square with no real character into a spectacular area for living, working, socializing, and recreation.
