Expand Sydney’s metro without slowing the city down

Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest transport infrastructure project. It is a direct response to the growing demand for better transportation fueled by the city’s population and employment growth. 

The network was projected to have 31 metro stations and over 66 km of metro rail within 6 years with further expansions by the end of the decade.

The delivery of a project this scale is no small feat, especially with the inclusion of Sydney’s flagship underground metro station design and when time and public safety are at stake.

How could we execute at pace and use creative design solutions to enable a pleasant, efficient, and seamless flow of passengers through the system? 

Engineer for ease

By creating clutter-free stations and designing them as close to the surface as possible, people will be able to enter and exit the metro with ease. Increased reliability of services, fully automatic driverless, single-deck metro style trains and automatic platform screen doors, will also improve safety and convenience.
