Engineering firms sit on decades of institutional knowledge (designs, specifications and project data), much of it scattered across disconnected systems and difficult to find, trust or reuse at the pace clients now expect. The Nomic partnership supports Arcadis' strategy to unlock that knowledge, embedding AI and digital capabilities into project delivery to help deliver faster, higher-quality outcomes for clients.

By integrating Nomic's agents across tools Arcadis teams already use, including Autodesk Forma, and Bentley ProjectWise, with further platform integrations in active development, Arcadis aims to increase accuracy, speed and delivery certainty for clients while creating more scalable and repeatable ways of working, deriving greater value across the business.

The investment reflects Arcadis’ disciplined approach to AI: targeting domain-specific AI platforms that can be deployed in partnership with its people on core workflows, creating capacity for higher-value work. It also gives Arcadis a structured role in shaping Nomic’s product roadmap, helping ensure future capabilities are aligned with changing client needs and its broader AI and digital strategy. 

By combining the expertise and deep client understanding of Arcadians with AI agents built for the realities of the built environment, the Nomic partnership will enhance delivery across the sectors and services Arcadis serves. From permitting and planning to major infrastructure delivery, Nomic’s agents will help teams accelerate delivery work such as drawing review against firm standards, code compliance checks, first-pass submittal review, RFI research and BIM coordination — analyzing complex project information, including building codes, design specifications and technical documentation, more quickly and consistently, enabling faster decisions, improved efficiency and better outcomes for clients. In addition, the partnership will allow Arcadis to provide new services, adapt to new, more advanced ways of working to solve complex projects, and add greater value to clients. 

The investment follows a six-month Arcadis trial engagement involving around 150 engineers across multiple disciplines, sectors and services in 12 countries. The trial assessed how the Nomic platform could leverage and extend the technical expertise of Arcadis' engineers - not replace it - Arcadis’ engineers’ technical expertise - not replace it, to improve the speed and quality of project delivery in controlled, real-world settings.

The results showed that 86% of participating engineers said Nomic changed how they approach their work, with over a quarter describing the shift as fundamental. By providing faster, more complete visibility into complex project information - compressing days of coordination work into agent work plus expert review - the platform helped engineers identify risks and misalignments earlier, analyze technical documentation more efficiently and accelerate tasks such as cost prediction for industrial manufacturing clients. In one example, a workflow reduced several days of manual document cataloguing to just hours. Engineers also used the platform to strengthen technical bids, contributing to new work won during the trial.
