Local Sparks: Our volunteer work

Local Sparks: our volunteer work

At Arcadis, our passion for improving quality of life drives the work we do for clients, the way we operate our global company, and how we engage with people in communities. To date, thousands of our people have volunteered their time, knowledge, and skills through the Local Sparks program, contributing to more than 200 pro bono community projects that have created positive impacts around the world. Since 2019, these initiatives have been unified under the Arcadis Local Sparks movement.

Local Sparks: the Arcadis social impact movement

The projects within the Local Sparks program vary from one-day, hands-on activities to assist people in need, to longer-term efforts in technical consulting and mentorship. For example, in Hong Kong we collect surplus bread from bakeries and distribute it to local charities. In Brazil, we helped provide clean water access to people living in rural settlements. In New York, Arcadians are mentoring students in math, science, and engineering—sparks of life that inspire the next generation to transform the world for the better.

The main objective of the Local Sparks initiative is to encourage all Arcadians to contribute their time and expertise to improve quality of life in communities. Through Sparks volunteering, we continue to stimulate the development of new community projects and celebrate the positive impact of our global team. These Sparks charity efforts showcase how collaboration, compassion, and technical excellence can come together to make meaningful change.

Local Sparks is made possible with the generous support of the Lovinklaan Foundation and Katalys.
