Privacy and Cookie Statement


This Privacy Statement is applicable to the processing of all personal data of users through the website and apps by Arcadis. Arcadis N.V. is the controller of the processing of all personal data collected through the website and apps. Arcadis respects your privacy and commits to complying with applicable data protection law. 

For what purpose do we process your personal data? 

1.  If you have requested this, for sending you information about Arcadis by e-mail. 

What does this purpose entail?

We would like to keep you updated on the latest vacancies / events / developments / news items / special offers  and other opportunities and developments within Arcadis. We will do this by means of e-newsletters. If you would like to stay informed on these topics, you can indicate this by ticking the appropriate box before submitting your registration.

We use an analytics and tracking tool called Campaignmaster (operated by Campaign Master (UK) Limited) to send direct marketing communications to our contacts ("DMC's"). These DMC's are tracked and we can identify if any DMC has been opened, viewed, forwarded or if you have clicked any links within the DMC. Other than the information originally given to us by you, the tool will store your campaign history, how many campaigns you have been sent, which campaigns and the statistics from those campaigns (if you have opened them or otherwise interacted). This information is used to refine future email campaigns and supply you with more relevant content based around your activity. You can opt out of this tool at any time by clicking on the relevant 'opt out' link in any DMC that you receive.

Which personal data do we process for this purpose? 

For this purpose we may process your name, your e-mail address, your country of residence and an overview of which newsletters we have sent you.

For what period do we retain your personal data?

We retain your personal data for as long as you wish to receive information from Arcadis. In case you don't want to receive such e-mails, you can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us through info@arcadis.com  or by using the unsubscribe option included in each e-mail message by Arcadis. 

2. For the technical and functional management of the website. 

What does this purpose entail?

When you visit our website or apps, our administrators process technical data linked to the use of the website to enable us to deliver the functionalities of the website or apps and to perform website/app analysis. With this technical data our administrators can manage the website, for instance by resolving technical difficulties or improving the accessibility of certain parts of the website. This way, we ensure that you can (continue to) find the information on the website or app in a quick and simple manner. For this purpose cookies are used as well (see How do we use cookies?).

Which personal data do we process for this purpose?

For this purpose we process technical data like the IP-address of your computer or mobile device, the visited web- or app pages, the internet browser you use, previous/next visited websites and the duration of a visit/session. 

For what period do we retain your personal data for this purpose?

We retain technical data for a maximum period of six months for this purpose.

3. To provide you personalised newsfeeds 

What does the purpose entail?

On our website or one of our apps, we may provide you with the option to choose to receive personalised newsfeeds from Arcadis. In that case we will ask you to indicate which of our news categories you would be interested in. Based on the categories of your choice we will be able to show you the news items of your interest. 

Which personal data do we process for this purpose?

For this, we may process your name, email address, title, telephone, gender and date of birth, address, any other information you added to your account, your login data (including your password), display name and your role.

How long do we retain your personal data for this purpose?

For this purpose, your personal data will be retained for the duration of your cookies or app. After this term, your personal data provided for this purpose only will be deleted from our systems. 

4. For answering your questions.

What does this purpose entail?

On various pages of the website or apps you can ask us a question. You can also contact us by other means (such as e-mail or telephone). In this case we will use your personal data to answer your question.

Which personal data do we process for this purpose?

For this purpose we process your name, your contact information, your correspondence with Arcadis about your question and all other personal data you provide us with and which is required to answer your question.

For what period do we retain your personal data for this purpose?

Your data will be deleted from our systems after six months. 

5. The generation of management information, statistical data and market research 

What does this purpose entail?

We perform research into market trends through statistical analysis. We use the results of such research to evaluate our current websites, apps and services and to adapt our services and marketing to new developments. The research results are only reported on an aggregate basis. This means that the results are not related to individual users in any way.

Which personal data do we process for this purpose?

To generate these informational reports we process usage data such as the time and date of your successful logins and which services you view. The results in these reports are purely statistical and are not used to identify you.

For what period do we retain such data?

We retain such data for a period of six months.

Links to other websites and social media

On the website or apps you will find a number of links to other websites. Although these websites are selected with care, we are not responsible for the processing of your personal data through these websites. Arcadis' Terms and Conditions (top of this page) and this Privacy Statement are therefore not applicable to the use of such websites. If you choose to share our website or apps through social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook and/or Twitter, your personal data (such as your name and the fact that you are interested in Arcadis) will also be visible to all the visitors of your personal webpage on LinkedIn, Facebook and/or Twitter. On the use of such social media websites only the terms and conditions (including the privacy policy) of the social media website apply. Arcadis is not responsible for the processing of personal data or the privacy policy of such social media websites. Arcadis' Terms of Use and this Privacy Statement and Cookie Policy is therefore not applicable to the use of such websites.

What are cookies?

Through cookies, Arcadis is able to improve the user-friendliness of the website and to adjust the website to your needs. Arcadis uses cookies to provide website functionality and to help Arcadis analyse how users use the site. The type of personal information collected as a result of a cookie is specific to your computer and activity and may include the Internet Protocol (IP) address, the date and time you access our website, what parts of the website you visited and your personal preferences. 

For usage analysis, the website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Arcadis has entered into a data processor agreement with Google for this purpose.

The information collected by the Google Analytics cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. The data transferred will include your IP-address from which the last three digits have been removed to protect your privacy. 

Google will use this information solely to enable Arcadis to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and to provide Arcadis with technical assistance. Arcadis has disabled Google's ability to use such information for its own purposes or to provide such information to third parties, except to the extent required by law. 

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of the website. 

How to control cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer or mobile device and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit our website and some services and functionalities may not work.

Arcadis uses third parties for certain processing, such as the hosting of the website. As far as these third parties have access to personal data in order to execute these processing, Arcadis has taken the required organizational and contractual measures to ensure that your personal data is exclusively processed for the purposes mentioned above. Arcadis may transfer your personal data to its group companies. In case Arcadis sells all or some of the assets or shares of a group company to which personal data was transferred to a third party, your personal data may be provided to this third party. Arcadis will not provide your personal data to any other third parties, unless there is a legal obligation to do so.

Access, correction and removal
