stakeholdersMelbourne is one of Australia’s fastest growing cities, and a proposal to build a brand new rail corridor connecting communities on the western fringe underpins rapid population and economic growth for decades to come.
Working with 22 public and industry stakeholders to deliver the biggest rail infrastructure project in Victoria in 80 years meant new approaches to project management, design processes and built environment solutions, including smarter responses to community, environmental, heritage and cultural conditions.
The results speak for themselves. 25 kilometers of dual broad guage track, two intermodal stations and 28 new bridges-with future proofing design provisions for another four stations and electrification of the corridor-delivers sustainable, reliable transport for the extra 400,000 people expected to live and work here over the next decade.
