Considered as a strategic action by Sabesp client, the PURA program (Conscious Use of Water Program) aims to promote water savings in public buildings through awareness and updating of inefficient infrastructure.
With a different contract model - payment based on performance - Arcadis acted in this project realizing interventions to reduce water consumption in public schools, prisons and hospitals in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, encouraging the promotion of rational use through technological actions and awareness campaigns to deal with water scarcity.
Over 1,000 public properties were part of the program and, as results, more than 40,000 cubic meters of water were saved alongside with a reduction of R$1 million in monthly costs related to water usage.
