M80 Ring Road Upgrade

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Providing design services for a contemporary freeway to improve capacity, safety and efficiency.

Delivering increased safety for road users, improved capacity and reduced travel times.

The M80 Ring Road is a vital part of Victoria’s road and transport network, and a long overdue upgrade means increased safety for road users, improved capacity and reduced travel times.

Improved safety is crucial for such a busy route, and the delivery of more lanes, smarter electronic systems and dedicated exit lanes will help to manage traffic flow across the entire route.

Arcadis’ focus on sustainable design meant recycled water was used in construction and storm water and run-off was harvested for reuse, while greener handling of materials such as earth-fill eliminated thousands of truck movements on the road network. Arcadis’ greatest contribution to sustainable design however was our innovative highways design and traffic engineering that provided for maximum re-use of existing infrastructure to provide required capacity and safety improvements.
