Connecting the city’s northern and western suburbs with the cultural precinct at Southbank to effectively cut inner city traffic congestion.

Brisbane’s ‘Go Between Bridge’ connects the city’s northern and western suburbs with the cultural precinct at Southbank to effectively cut inner city traffic congestion.

As lead designer and also providing environmental and traffic management, Arcadis facilitated the delivery of the 300 meter balanced cantilever concrete bridge featuring four traffic lanes, a 230 meter single direction two-lane viaduct, and two dedicated pedestrian and cycle lanes.

Our designers drew upon their skill and international experience to optimise the materials for the main bridge, achieving an aesthetically pleasing slender profile and significant cost savings. The Hale Street Link project also includes a 230 meter single direction two-lane viaduct on Coronation Drive, and extensive at grade intersection plus utility relocation works on each side of the Brisbane River.

Arcadis’ team contributed significantly to the successful delivery of the project by providing cost-effective solutions to risk items
