A crucial transport connection between Brisbane’s central business district, northern suburbs and busy airport.

Brisbane’s Airport Link is not only Australia’s longest road tunnel, but a crucial transport connection between Brisbane’s fast growing central business district, northern suburbs and the busy airport.

The complex Project, which was delivered ahead of schedule, involved Arcadis certifying design and construction of 15 kilometers of tunnelling, new busway tunnels, multiple connecting ramps, 3 Ventilation Stations, 25 new bridges and an Operations Building.

Adopting international best practice the project relied on the world’s largest tunnel-boring machines, up to 17 road header machines at any one time and the world’s largest jacked box to construct an underpass beneath Queensland’s busiest railway line.
