Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation features Arcadis perspective on transitioning to new fire fighting foam alternatives

The newest installment of the regular technical column “Advances in Remediation Solutions” is available in Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation, the official publication of the National Ground Water Association. The article looks at the transition to new alternatives from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) containing fire fighting foam and evolving methods that improve the effectiveness of the transition process.

To provide the most detailed perspective on such an environmentally impactful topic, series corresponding author John Horst collaborated with Arcadis teammates Joseph Quinnan, Jeffrey McDonough, Johnsie Lang, Peter Storch, Jeffrey Burdick and Corey Theriault to explore the important lessons learned from their on-going work including residual management options based on current technology.

Read the full article, “Transitioning Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Containing Fire Fighting Foams to New Alternatives: Evolving Methods and Best Practices to Protect the Environment” [subscription only] at Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation. Upcoming topics for the Advances in Remediation Solutions column will include advances in human centric remediation.
