Senior Procurement Manager

Job Description

  • Minimise total cost through exploiting and contributing to Arcadis group leverage and market awareness, negotiating supplier prices, contract terms and improvement programmes as appropriate;
  • Work with External Third Parties for Direct and Indirect goods and services - the key contact for negotiations of services either directly or to support client facing staff;
  • Conduct and maintain an overview of current procurement practices and contracts;
  • Work with business managers to agree, implement and manage category strategies and organisational improvements that introduce Procurement rigour in order to minimise risk and maximise opportunities;
  • Detailed understanding of policies, techniques and concepts within his functional area of expertise, independently managing delivery of key functional activities or products and identifying opportunities for business improvement, designing and delivering new approaches and providing specialist support and advice to the business;
  • Supervision of small teams of specialists being proactive individual contributor;
  • Contribution in the management of the total indirect and direct cost for the Italy business and delivery in the savings target as set annual by Head of Procurement;
  • Being a catalyst for change management and promotion of best practice;
  • Provide guidance on strategic activities in order to gain competitive advantage through strategic sourcing and developing the maturity of the Procurement function;
  • Align strategic Procurement with the organisation’s competitive strategy;
  • Drive the function’s strategic efforts encompassing sustainable sourcing, supplier selection, supplier relationship management, technical product know-how, vehicle and associated risk management, contract T&C’s, commercial risk mitigation and department financials and savings;
  • Rationalise the supplier base, negotiations, communications and maintain long-term relationships with best suppliers.

     

     

    Profile of an Outstanding Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline;
  • Purchasing: process ownership, suppliers management, negotiation skills, contract management;
  • Consultancy (operations): strong professional competence to lead internal and external client’s toward proposed solutions;
  • Postgraduate in engineering or economics;
  • Member of CIPS and/or similar international qualification is preferred;
  • Fluent English mandatory (both written and oral), French preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Target driven;
  • Customer oriented;
  • Ability or potential to manage the client in a project scenario;
  • Member of CIPS and/or similar international qualification is preferred.
