ESHIA Consultant

Job description

  • Project coordination and/or technical inputs on sections of major ESHIAs including:

  • Guidance throughout all stages of the ESHIA

  • Ability to liaise with the client interface and to work in an international team

  • Coordination of multi-disciplinary tasks and teams from across Arcadis’s European and other global offices and local in-country sub-consultancies as necessary

  • Financial management of tasks assigned in the project

  • Leading in-country work, including meetings with clients, regulators and stakeholders as necessary

  • Providing technical review and quality assurance to ensure consistent and high-quality ESHIA report delivery style

  • Undertaking ESDD reviews and acting as Independent Environmental and Social Consultant on projects seeking project financing

  • Leading and coordinating on proposals

The successful candidate will have a knowledge of the international project development sector, an understanding of ESHIA best practice, a willingness to work flexible hours when required and be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and project teams. By the very nature of Impact Assessment, it is essential that the candidate has strong organisational and communication skills and excellent attention to detail. 

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience of taking the lead on consulting projects acting as a technical/functional resource
  • Ability to interpret environmental, social, health and safety legislative and regulatory requirements, standards, guidelines, policies, and plans
  • High-quality and efficient report writing skills Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with a second language an asset
  • Proven track-record
  • Ability to use IT packages (including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Project) to prepare reports, figures and project programmes
