Arcadis and Partners Win Grand Award from ACEC for Desalination Plant
April 2017 – The Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant, created in part by Arcadis and providing 50 million gallons per day of reliable, potable water for a thirsty San Diego County, won a prestigious Grand Award as part of the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Engineering Excellence Awards competition. Arcadis’ role at the plant, owned by Poseidon Water, involved providing engineering design and construction assistance services. ACEC also awarded Arcadis a National Recognition Award for its work on the Middle Harbor Redevelopment Program, Phase 1 at the Port of Long Beach, California. This extensive multi-year project involved connecting and upgrading two existing shipping terminals and transforming them into a single, fully automated terminal. Arcadis provided construction management oversight and environmental services during phase one construction of the $450 million project.
