Arcadis’ Ifetayo Venner named vice president of Water Environment Federation

TAMPA, Fla.- Oct. 20, 2020- Ifetayo Venner, PE, ENV SP, vice president of Arcadis’ water business line, has been elected as vice president of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) for 2020-2021. WEF is a global water sector professional organization with over 35,000 individual members and 75 affiliated member associations. In her role as vice president, Venner will help provide governance, oversight control and strategic direction for WEF. 

Upon completion of her term as vice president, Venner will succeed to the office of president-elect in 2021-2022, and then serve as president in 2022-2023. 

“Ifetayo has a proven track record of jumping into action and will be instrumental in shaping a more resilient water sector” said John McCarthy, president of Arcadis’ water business line. 

Venner is based out of Arcadis’ Tampa office, where she has been responsible for the planning, design and startup of municipal wastewater treatment and reuse facilities throughout the U.S. She has served as the organization’s wastewater service leader since 2016. 

“WEF has played a huge part in my career and connects water professionals who are passionate about protecting public health and the environment,” said Venner. “It is an honor and privilege to champion WEF’s mission alongside this incredible group of industry leaders.” 

Throughout her 20-year career at Arcadis, Venner has been extensively involved with WEF and its member associations. In addition to serving on the board of trustees for the past three years, where she has served on the finance committee and chaired the strategic advisory committee, Venner has been a member of WEF’s committee leadership council and director of the sustainability community of practice. She has also engaged in several committees and task forces related to wastewater treatment, sustainability and governance. She is a member of the Florida Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Association of Texas.
