Arcadis appointed to £100 million Homes England Framework to support delivery of new housing

Arcadis has been appointed to the £100 million Homes England Multidisciplinary Framework, which will be used to provide technical services to help support the delivery of up to 300,000 new homes a year by the mid-2020s.

The Framework will cover all technical services, including engineering, master planning, development and strategic planning, design, project and cost management on a range of sites owned by the agency across England. The provision of a number of integrated services will provide a ‘one stop shop’ for Homes England, with Arcadis having been selected as one of 20 suppliers on the basis of its multi-disciplinary development expertise, offering a single point of responsibility that can efficiently co-ordinate all the services managed by the framework.

In general, the services procured through this framework will support preparation of public sector sites for disposal to developers in order to build much needed new homes.  Arcadis will be well placed to bring new expertise to scaling-up the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), using innovative technologies such as precision manufacturing, data analytics and parametric design tools to help accelerate supply and address affordability issues.

Louise Brooke-Smith, UK Head of Development and Strategic Planning at Arcadis, said:

“Delivering new homes is not just about building more houses, but creating places where people genuinely want to live and be part of a thriving new community. With Homes England, our focus will be on developing completely integrated, fully investable masterplans that are not just financially viable, but also provide attractive, high quality environments with the minimum of delivery risk and that deliver the homes people need.

“We’ll be drawing on a wealth of experience gained working on exciting projects such as the Otterpool Park garden town in Kent, the Housing Regeneration Programme with Croydon Council’s development arm, Brick-by-Brick, and the Digbeth Canal Corridor Regeneration Masterplan in Birmingham. I know that the team at Arcadis is looking forward to working with Homes England to apply our expertise to help bring forward new schemes right around the country.”
