• Our People

Caroline Dickson

Caroline derives a great deal of satisfaction from exploring new technologies in her role as an environment, safety and risk management consultant: “My projects to date have required me to look to the future and understand the challenges we face building and designing for a diverse population whose needs are changing. It is very exciting. I research what we might use and work collaboratively with colleagues overseas.”

“Our projects help users with real life, daily issues.”

What do you love about working for Arcadis?
“The diversity of the work I get to do, the people I work with and the opportunities I have been given while working here, like participating in the Arcadis Global Shapers program.”

How does Arcadis help your professional development?
“I have been given several opportunities to develop in areas I am passionate about. I am currently working with the marketing team looking at branding, and I am really enjoying it.”

How do you see Arcadis values coming to life?
“The support I have received helped me realize I have skills and attributes my technical role doesn’t fulfill. I now have a mentor and a coach. I am also involved in diversity and inclusion initiatives.”

My favorite projects:

1. ITER – the future of nuclear power
“The largest Nuclear Fusion project in the world  has enabled me to travel and establish Human Factors integration at the very beginning of a project.”

2. Operational Resilience – London Underground
“This project involved looking at how we can prevent and mitigate against operational impact to the railway. It included how can we minimise delays and disruption by learning from past incidents.”

3. Culinary Support center, design and layout - a University campus, US
“We assisted the safety team in the US to provide Human Factors input and assessment on the design and layout of a university campus catering facility.”
