Arcadis’ Al Rajhi Bank project recognized as KSA’s national winner at MEED Projects Awards 2019

Congratulations to the team behind the success of our Al Rajhi Bank project, which topped the Commercial Property Project of the Year category while also being recognised with a Sustainability Medal at this year’s prestigious projects awards!

This week, MEED announced the National Winners for the MEED Projects Awards 2019 in association with Mashreq. The Al Rajhi Bank Project has been selected as the national winner for KSA in two categories, namely Commercial Property Project of the Year and Sustainability Medal.

Al Rajhi Bank Headquarters, with an area of 10,246m², is a G+36, 205m high tower that offers a high-quality work place for employees built around the business activities of the bank. It comprises four cores, which shield the crystalline glass tower from the worst of the Middle East weather. In this project, Arcadis provided a one-stop shop solution to the client including site supervision, contract advisory, program management, design development and more.

Abdallah Al Garawi, Country Manager – KSA at Arcadis said, “We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the client and his mega projects team for choosing and working jointly with Arcadis to deliver this project, our valuable project team members, and other stakeholders, who have contributed to this successful journey. Our strong understanding of the client’s needs and our unique expertise helped us to successfully deliver this iconic project – the first open space operating bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

“This year the judging panel reviewed a record number of entries from across the GCC, which affirms yet again the robust projects market in the region, amidst the challenging business landscape. Competition has been tough, and it’s great to see a strong commitment not just in completing projects, but also in meeting very stringent quality standards. Congratulations to all our national winners,” said Richard Thompson, Editorial Director, MEED.

Al Rajhi Bank Tower will now be reviewed against its Gulf rivals for the GCC honours to determine the final winners of the 2019 MEED Projects Awards, which will be revealed at an awards ceremony on 24th April at the Conrad Dubai Hotel.
