The 39 km tollway known as EastLink is a vital connection across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, featuring tunnels, major interchanges, bridges, and a shared-use trail linking over 70 newly created wetlands.

Arcadis provided design services for the largest urban motorway ever built in Victoria that included 88 bridges, twin 1.6 km tunnels, 10,000+ walls, parapets, major interchanges, and sustainable water quality treatment systems.

Innovative precast and prefabricated structural elements delivered cost savings, durability and efficiency that helped deliver the project five months ahead of schedule. An outcome that saw it win an Engineers Australia Award for Excellence (Victoria), the Australian Construction Achievement Award, a Gold Award at the Consult Australia Awards and the Concrete Institute of Australia Award for Excellence.
