Senior Social Specialist for Mumbai and Noida

Arcadis is seeking a detail oriented, well organized, dependable Engineer who can manage projects to join our India team. This middle/senior level full-time position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities will include a combination of field and office related tasks and may include extensive travel within India for extended periods


Arcadis is seeking an experienced (at least 8+yrs) skilled, dependable Social Professional to join our India EP team. This mid-level full-time position requires an experienced, confident social professional with good communication skills, familiarity with working in Bank funded projects (ADB, IFC), good understanding of the Bank guidelines/policies (such as IFC Performance standards, ADB Safeguard Policies) & experience in interacting with the Bank’s social experts. Also needs to fulfil NABET’s social expert requirement- perhaps already accredited as Social expert in previous organisation (for working in regulatory projects).

Responsibilities will include a combination of field, office, report writing, project delivery, FI interactions, and related tasks and will include travel within & outside India.

Job Description:

•Sector Leader – Social

•Conduct & lead socio-economic surveys, social screening of projects & social impact assessment, livelihood impact assessment including Resettlement & Rehabilitation framework

•Monitoring, evaluation and supervising social mitigation plans and resettlement plans

•Undertake social assessment and develop mitigation plan as per IFC, ADB, World Bank and financial institutions guidelines

•Analysing social cost & benefits including risks and mitigation plan for investor decisions

•Manage Social Team – mentor team & develop skill set of the team Direct & monitor project management activities, including tasks delegation & direction, health & safety management, project commercial performance, deliverable quality review and interaction with clients

Essential:

•Degree in Social Science

•Knowledge of IFC’s performance standards, ADB’s & World Bank’s safeguard policies.

•Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

•Strong technical writing ability and reporting skills.

•Flexibility and adaptability.

•A genuine enthusiasm for the role, displaying a willingness to learn and develop.

•The ability to work in a collaborative manner as part of a team.

•Good organisational and time management skills.

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

•Flexibility, willingness and ability to travel nationally.

•Prior experience of leading team, managing client, FI and projects.

•QCI accreditation as Socio Economic expert.
