Project Director - Bangalore

Lead the Project Management team comprising of multi-disciplinary professionals to deliver a 800,000 sft corporate office fit-out project in Bangalore for an MNC client

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Responsible for delivering and managing service excellence in programme & project management solutions and delivering positive outcomes for our client
  • Manage all matters pertaining to the site and co-ordinate regular meetings with all stakeholders/top management of the client from India, Asia and Global locations
  • Ensure timely completion of the project within the budget in accordance with the Master Programme
  • Manage the Construction Process including Contractors, Consultants, Construction Supervision and HSE teams

Job Description:

  • Manage client & stakeholder relationships. Stakeholders include various department heads located in Global locations
  • Lead all management reporting, deliver work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls
  • Co-ordinate and manage design consultans, other agencies and contractors
  • Deliver services utilizing the Arcadis gateway processes as control and review mechanism
  • Work with client stakeholders and operational team to deliver project solutions that support the operational model
  • Manage, interact and coordinate with designers, construction management agencies at site
  • Deliver projects with the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case/client brief stage, while maintaining focus on time, cost and quality
  • Responsible for Health and Safety on the project including: Mitigating HSE Risk, Reporting, Reviewing and commenting upon Contractor's safety plans
  • Lead and performance manage the onsite project team
  • Influences detailed design, value engineering to enable the client to make timely and effective decisions
  • Reviews the Design Strategy to provide linkages and dependencies identification
  • Establishes and implements a set of integrated policies, procedures, tools and system to consistently execute, and monitor projects
  • Establish monitoring dashboards/procedure to measure progress
  • Promote the culture lessons learned, sharing knowledge and striving for efficiencies across the Project
  • Manage and update the Master Programme from Design to Construction Close Out
  • Liaise with Cost Management team and advise on; procurement strategy, value engineering and cost matters
  • Provide support and training to subordinate staff and other departments within the Company to improve overall performance
  • Lead, manage, interact, coordinate and handle the client's internal stakeholders, designers, construction management agencies, contractors at site, quality control, time management, and represent in all project related meetings and present reports
  • Lead, coach and develop team members to deliver service excellence
  • Utilize and embed established Arcadis tools and processes, and develop to suit project requirements and Client's operation principles. Additionally, utilize technology to support the delivery of services
  • Strong personal presence pre-and-post contract working with team members to 'plan, do review' project activity associated with the supply chain in regards to safety, programme, quality, contractor's performance and recommending and implementing corrective action
  • Deliver the agreed scope of works (inclusive of contract administration) including the leadership and management of meetings with the supply chain, and stakeholders
  • Managing and supervising the production of tender and request proposal (RFP) documentation for various trades and services including analysis of returns
  • Visit site throughout the project to monitor progress of the project and act where necessary to correct non-compliance

Job Requirements:

  • Recognised Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture or relevant discpline preferred
  • Proven track record in project delivery with at least 14 to 20 years of related working experience
  • Prior experience in managing projects and interior fit-out programmes for an international Corporate Real Estate (CRE) organization (preferably financial institution but not essential) where the team sets the standards, drives compliance and measures success of external consultants and vendors
  • International experience or MNC work experience would be an added advantage
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and team members
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Organised, efficient and pragmatic
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
