Hyundai Department Store

Daegu City, South Korea - The 56,000 sqm, 11-story Hyundai Department Store in Daegu, revealed a new concept for the traditional department store brand with our distinctive architecture, interiors, and graphics, making it the largest department store for both the brand and Southeast Korea.

Following more than three years of design and construction, our design team created markedly different customer experiences throughout the project, forming a unique atmosphere and character for each department.

This 56,000 sqm store features more than 50 luxury brands, many of which are the first in the region, a 600-seat auditorium, cinema, cultural center, art gallery and spacious rooftop garden.

Our concept for the interior, exterior, and landscaping focused on shifting the department store’s standard design from high-end classic to luxury modern, from a place to a destination, and from product-oriented to people-oriented.

The unique façade creates an iconic building in the city and continues to draw in a record number of visitors. The new location brought in record profits of $5 million on opening day and $15 million over its first five days.
