Job description

The Country Head drive growth and profitable performance, deliver great project outcomes for our clients, develop new business and grow existing client relationships, develop our talent pool and create greater value for our business in growth, margin and cash.

Leadership:

  • Set a personal example regarding H&S stewardship and provide leadership, demonstrating to Our People, Clients and all Business partners that good H&S management is an essential integral element of our business;
  • Conduct OpCo business in conformance with the Global H&S Vision & Policy statement and H&S Management System, also ensuring in-country H&S staff are sufficiently resourced to discharge these requirements;
  • Lead cultural change to be the best;
  • Exemplify role model behaviors and live Arcadis values of integrity, client focus, collaboration and sustainability;
  • Drive compliance and achieve excellence in H&S, AGBP and ABC processes;
  • Resourcing and deployment of country resources;
  • Own client retention and relationships in the country;
  • Promote a culture which supports our employees to be the best they can be and to deliver our People Promise in country;
  • Recruit, develop and performance manage performance cell leaders, coaching and mentoring them to achieve high performance, growth and personal development;
  • Work with the Service Leaders to agree Recruitment, pricing and Resourcing;  
  • Lead the implementation of internal change programs within country (e.g. the Arcadis Way).

Business Development & Performance:

  • Own and deliver a country 3-year financial plan and one year budget;
  • Optimize Utilization levels, margin delivery and improvement in the country;
  • Engage appropriate sector and service leaders and enable the creation of communities to focus on growth, build client empathy, relationships and repeat sales;
  • Make Go/No-Go decisions per limits of authority for strategic pursuits, cross country or mega opportunities – managing conflicts of interest as necessary.

Strategy & Brand:

  • Implement the Arcadis Asia regional strategy, aligned with the Arcadis corporate and business strategies within country;
  • Feed into market analysis and knowledge with particular emphasis on clients;
  • Financial forecasting and budgeting in the country;
  • Create location and business plans to meet prescribed market needs in the country;
  • Develop the brand and point of difference in the country.

Requirements

Comfortable with ambiguity: Able to handle challenging ambiguous situations effectively whist remaining calm under pressure

Planning and organizing: Demonstrates excellent prioritizing and organizational skills, effectively delegating work both upwards and downwards. Capability to re-plan and re-prioritize work taking into account resources and contingency. Self-motivated and able to work independently when required. Tenacious, assertive and able to professionally challenge and influence decisions.

Thirst for knowledge: A strong drive to learn and gain knowledge about the markets and sectors that Arcadis operates in as well as those our clients operate in.
