comfortCreating a new and improved railway station which meets today’s standards. Three preconditions were essential for the development of the new railway station concept. First the passenger's comfort needed to be optimal and social safety was essential. Second, an excellent connection between the city districts on either side was important, in which the railway station was to function as the urban focus. Finally all works needed to be executed without impeding the railway traffic.
Designing a multifunctional and modern station which is able to process the increasing number of passengers. Next to that, travellers had to be able to continue travelling, in other words: `the shop remained open` during construction.
Formulating a programme of requirements. Design in its entirety from draft up to and including design for execution, architecture, constructions, installations and rail technologies. Next to that, managing the costs, process and project, analysing the risks and taking care of the planning.
A new station that is characterized by a high degree of light, transparency and overview. These characteristics also apply to the railway station's new underpass.
Crown at our work was the official opening in 2007 by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Máxima.
