The Multinational Client (MNC) Program is a key component of the international Arcadis organization. In the past 15 years, the program has developed from a relatively limited program of modest importance to a crucial element of our worldwide strategy within our environment, infrastructure, water and buildings segments. From the MNC Program we lead and manage global Market Sectors (Chemical & Pharmaceutical, Financial Institutions, Conglomerates & Consumer Goods, Automotive, Oil & Gas and Commercial Developers) and manage the accounts of Arcadis’ top 50 worldwide and international clients.

 

The MNC team is made up of a Global Director and 6 Global Market Sector Leaders, supporting staff and a team of Global Account Managers and Account Principals in the various operating companies.

 

To support our growth ambitions, we want to increase the focus for the Chemical & Pharmaceutical sector (C&P) and therefore looking for a Global Account Leader (GAL) for two Europe based (Germany/Swiss) accounts.

Job description

 

·        To lead the global account relationship to establish Arcadis as a trusted partner;

·        To accelerate growth in the global account, delivering mutually beneficial outcomes.

 

·        Definition and execution of the global account strategy and plan;

·        Identification of global account client needs;

·        Development and prioritisation of value propositions to be applied to the global account;

·        Leadership of the global account team to deliver winning pursuits;

·        Leadership of the global account relationship to ensure client satisfaction;

·        Management of the pipeline to deliver global account targets;

·        Growth acceleration through target and existing global accounts;

·        Leadership of our people on sold commissions to deliver promised outcomes.

 

·        Lead the development and execution of the global account strategy and plan for target and existing clients in line with the global sector strategies;

·        Develop and grow target and existing global account(s) (revenue, bookings and margin) to meet or exceed planned targets;

·        Build and maintain an in-depth and dynamic understanding of target and existing global accounts;

·        Lead the translation, targeting and execution of global marketing and communication plans to target and existing global accounts;

·        Identify and create global product, service and proposition possibilities within target and existing global accounts;

·        Lead the targeting and tailoring of global value propositions into commercially viable global account value propositions which differentiate Arcadis in the market and demonstrate value-creating outcomes for the client, monetizing the benefits;

·        Lead and support global account pursuits by contributing to bid/no bid decisions, preparing proposals, presenting and closing the pursuit and preparing for delivery;

·        Lead the global account team to manage and develop the global account and deliver agreed outcomes;

·        Lead the continuous improvement in the capability and implementation of the global account for the benefit of the client and Arcadis;

·        Manage the pipeline to ensure an optimal flow of pursuits to achieve agreed targets, through up-to-date forecasting, regular global pipeline reviews and actions to ensure time and resources are invested in the right pursuits;

·        Lead the global account team in developing a trusted partnership with the client.  Develop and expand a sustainable network of relationships across the global account, leveraging these to enable Arcadis to have maximum impact and ensure optimal client satisfaction;

·        Recruit, develop and performance manage employees, coaching and mentoring them to achieve high performance, growth and personal development;

·        Promote a vibrant health and safety culture and practice.

 

Requirements

The candidate should have a Bachelor/Academic degree and 5+ years professional experience in a large (listed) company with an excellent knowledge of or background in the field of environment, water and buildings (assets) in the Chemical & Pharmaceutical sector, with strong focus on Germany and/or Switzerland. The candidate is experienced in managing large (international) accounts of high complexity and has the ambition to further develop his skills in this field. A strong active network of large industrial clients is required to be successful in this position. Further the candidate has the right competencies and personality and has potential to grow further in the organization after this role.

 

The ideal candidate has strong entrepreneurial and leadership qualities. He/she has a strong client focus and a great European and/or international orientation, he/she feels comfortable in a multinational network organization with dual reporting lines. He/she has a “can-do” mentality and works well with different kinds of people, but is also able to take decisive decisions when necessary.

·      Ability to identify client needs and translate these into propositions; Builds and shares (global) ideas with the focus on providing new & innovative solutions that contribute to the business performance;

·      Experienced in preparing global Sector and Account Plans and be able to translate and implement these into concrete objectives and actions;

·      Is a global player, implements global strategy without reservation, puts the interest of Arcadis above local and personal interests;

·      Energizes people by showing interest and sensitivity, sets challenging goals for him/herself and others. He/she inspires by engaging others and holding them accountable. Has eye for what needs to be done to get max out of his team and at the same time keep them fully engaged;

·      Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas;

·      Excellent negotiation skills;

·      Willing to be internationally active and travel on regular base;

·      Excellent in English and German, both written and verbal.
