Siemens Gas Turbines Factory

Damman, KSA - Middle East - Siemens required full engineering consultancy services for their new Gas Turbine Factory to be constructed on a Greenfield plot located in 2nd Industrial City, Dammam. As a strategic foothold in the region, Arcadis collaborated with Siemens to construct the factory along with two more huge plants beside it.

The Gas Turbine Factory will cover an area of 9,500 square meters, in addition to an attached administrative building with an area of 1,600 square meters and ancillary structures to support factory's utilities. The building will be 25 meters high, designed with heavy steel structures supporting overhead cranes of 300 tons capacity; these will facilitate the gas turbines assembly process. The plant will be constructed on a plot having an entire area of 210,000 square meters suitable for planned future expansion, with a construction cost anticipated to exceed 100 million Saudi Riyals.

Arcadis was appointed to provide full engineering design and value engineering studies for architecture, structure and MEP disciplines. Arcadis also prepared complete specifications and material catalogues for the project, attended tender negotiations, and prepared tender analysis reports.
