Goodman MB Logistics Centre B2

Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic - In cooperation with our Green Team, the Goodman MB Logistics Centre, Building B2 has achieved the final LEED certificate in February 2020. This is a very special project as we can talk about the first LEED v4 Industrial certified building in the Czech Republic.

Goodman MB Logistics Centre B2 is an industrial building built to a high standard and in a modern way, paying attention to its environment. In February 2020, the building has achieved the final LEED certificate. This is a very special project as it is the first LEED v4 Industrial certified building in Czech Republic, whereas Arcadis was appointed as the LEED consultant.

The project started in September 2018 and was completed in March 2019. The owner Goodman Business Development has entrusted Arcadis Czech Republic s.r.o. to provide certification and gai the necessary credits to achieve the required certification.


LEED v4 achievements:

  • The energy simulation provided by the Arcadis team realistically reflects the whole building and its future operation. In cooperation with the designers and the general contractor Golbeck Bau a technical solution which reflects the building needs and optimized the whole operation from the point of view of its usage and energy consumption.
  • Implementation of the energy simulation model during the design stage and consistent commissioning activities during the construction phase enabled the overall building energy consumption and the reduction of operating costs by 36.5 % in comparison with the reference (standardized) building.
  • Fixtures and fittings have been chosen to reduce the building drinking water consumption by at least 50% in comparison to the reference building. During the period of standard rainfall, it is possible to use rainwater for toilet flushing by 100 %.
  • During the construction phase the general contractor was imposed by strict conditions leading to construction site and its surroundings protection, workers and future users working environment prevention. Although located in an industrial zone the building is surrounded by fields and meadows. Minimization of harmful impacts to the surroundings e.g. prevention of soil erosion, underground water and air pollution have been respected.
  • The building materials were selected so that they are at most made of environmentally friendly materials. The maximum of demolition and construction waste has been recycled (about 85 %) taking care to ensure the final use of the waste.
